If you need to implement and certify some EMV terminal solution, you will need an EMV toolkit. An EMV toolkit includes both hardware devices and software products that allow you to emulate test EMV payment processing scenarios and record test results. Test results at the level of EMV credit card terminal are recorded in card logs, while the results at the level of credit card processor are recorded in host logs. Card logs and host logs, generated during the EMV terminal certification tests, are validated by card brands. If card brands (associations) are satisfied with test results, your EMV card processing solution is certified for respective card brands and payment types.
More information on EMV toolkits and their role in EMV certification is available in our article on Paylosophy.
